News for the release of the Constant Speed propeller Glorieuse for Rotax 916iS.
Translation of the French News :
For several years, E-Prop’s has been a major supplier to the ultralight industry, with a few forays into the certified sector. Its latest product should further enhance its reputation. The manufacturer has just released a three-bladed variable-pitch propeller weighing in at just 4 kilos, and adapted to the new power of the Rotax 916 engine, which oscillates between 141 and 160 Kt in a short period of time.
It follows on from the “Glorieuse” produced for the 912 and 915 engines, which was perfectly configured for this power range. The 916 engine is naturally not available to the French ultralight community, but its use outside France is growing, particularly in countries that use ultralights as aircraft. For example, the Ventura, a microlight in France, is equipped elsewhere with the latest Rotax engine. One of these models is used in Africa for reserve surveillance. We can also expect JMB Aircraft, which manufactures VL3s, to eventually fit this powerful engine for their overseas markets. For the time being, it is BlackWing that has just carried out tests on the new “Glorieuse”.
In the absence of any significant data, the company’s directors already estimate that the aircraft has never flown so fast or taken off so short. They hadn’t tried MT-Propeller, and the four-bladed Duc propeller didn’t give such convincing results. This propeller should play a role in future certified aircraft using the 916, provided it is certified. This step towards propeller certification has already been initiated by E-Prop’s, which has purchased an aircraft to learn the process. The cost of an E-Prop’s propeller is 6120 euros, to which must be added the rudder, an adjustment system and the spinner, for a total of nearly 8200 euros.
