E-Props in Alaska – extreme conditions

Gary Green arrived in Alaska in the 1970s in search of gold. After a successful prospecting venture, he turned his earnings into wings, purchasing his first airplane and founding McCarthy Air in 1988. For decades, his company played a pivotal role in connecting people and supplies to the vast, rugged terrain of Wrangell-St. Elias National Park, making this untamed wilderness more accessible.

Gary still takes to the skies for pleasure, flying light sport aircraft (LSA) powered by Rotax engines and keeping his passion for aviation alive amidst Alaska’s breathtaking landscapes. His Zlin Norden is equipped with a limited edition Rotax 915 iS turbocharged engine and its great E-Props 4-blade Excalibur-4. 🙂
