Testing of the ASCALON range continues: here is the 3-blade model.

We recently introduced you to the new propeller in the ASCALON range: our magnificent 3-blade propeller for Lycoming O-360 engines. It has passed all its ground tests and has now begun flight testing.

ASCALON-3 for Lycoming O-360 with our advanced onboard data acquisition ELIAS

ELIAS : a complex system of different types of sensors, electronic card and strain gauges integrated in the propeller’s hub, on the feet of the blades, and on other key places of the airplane. During the flight, thousands of measurements are sent in real time via Wifi to a computer located in the aircraft, as well as to a display that allows the pilot to refine his flight according to the requested parameters.

Himaé, test engineer, installs ELIAS

This Data Acquisition System named ELIAS is designed and manufactured by the E-Props design department.

Designer Jérémie Buiatti completes the installation of ELIAS (thanks to reinforced tape !)
Test pilot Samy gets into the aircraft for flight testing – Bilouis Lycoming O-360
Flight tests are conducted at Sisteron-Vaumeilh airfield (LFNS), where E-Props is based

Test results are very satisfactory and encouraging ! 🤩
Publications will follow shortly.
