TL96 Sting + E-Props Glorieuse: 97 m Ground Roll, 7 m/s Climb — and German Approval

We recently received some very interesting feedback from a German flying club operating a TL Ultralight Sting TL96 equipped with an E-PROPS GLOR-3-180-C8-T Glorieuse constant-speed propeller.
Since the beginning of July, the club has been flying and testing this configuration under a Permit to Fly, both in solo operation and for glider towing.
The results speak for themselves, see below feedback =>

Impressive Results !

During tests at a maximum takeoff weight of 472 kg (1,041 lb), the club measured:

  • 97 m (318 ft) ground roll
  • 7 m/s (1,380 ft/min) rate of climb

The Sting was also used to tow heavy two-seat gliders, including the DG-1001 and Duo Discus XLT, from a 600 m (1,970 ft) grass runway — even in high temperatures and calm wind conditions.

Approved in Germany

The club has now obtained the German supplementary approval for the installation of the E-PROPS GLOR-3-180-C8-T on the TL Ultralight Sting TL96.
This approval adds to the growing list of E-PROPS propeller configurations officially validated for ultralight aircraft in Germany.

How to obtain the German Approval

Is your E-Props propeller not yet listed on a DULV or DAeC sheet for your specific aircraft/engine combination? This means an additional approval (EMZ) must be requested in Germany, including a mandatory on-site noise test. As a French company, E-Props is not authorised to carry out this German acoustic test itself.

To support flying clubs and pilots through this process, E-Props offers an attractive commercial arrangement: the propeller is purchased at full price, and part of its cost is refunded once the German approval has been obtained. This is E-Props’ standard procedure for this type of request in Germany — please get in touch with us if you are in this situation, at helices@e-props.fr
