E-Props propellers have made a name for themselves in the USA, where they have won the hearts and minds of satisfied users. Californian manufacturer Icon Aircraft has chosen the French brand as its exclusive supplier for the A5 Rotax 912S seaplane. The new models will be delivered with the 177 cm Excalibur four-blade weighing 2.3 kg (instead of 5.9 kg for the Sensenich three-blade it replaces) and a specially developed cooling system. The two arguments that convinced the American company were weight and efficiency, since tests demonstrated a 10-12% shorter take-off distance and 8% lower fuel consumption. Icon Aicraft is also offering to upgrade older-generation A5s with this propeller.
