E-Props Ascalon for direct drive engines : multi-objective optimization including noise reduction

LUKY SOFTWARE, developed by Jérémie Buiatti, models the behavior of an E-Props propeller on a given engine, from an aerodynamic and mechanical point of view, including vibration analysis and service life calculation.
It enables the E-Props design office to develop blade profiles adapted to each aircraft – engine – application. For propellers designed for direct-drive engines, the noise reduction aspect has been studied very closely.

Profiles and chords, which evolve along the length of the blades, are also optimized for noise reduction.
These special profiles are named “SILENT +“.

ASCALON
– Range of propellers for direct drive engines
– Ground adjustable pitch
– Hub : full carbon
– Blades : full carbon + titanium leading edge protection

Multi-objective optimization :
– ultra-light : 2-blade for Lycoming O-360 180 hp  =  5 kg / 11 lbs
– very strong for high TBO
– high efficiency
– noise reduction :  SILENT+ profiles
– compliant with EASA CS-P and FAA 14 CFR PART 35 standards

Tests and measurements coming soon. 🙂
